Weekend Openers/Closers
Hours:
Saturday and Sunday
Two shifts available: 5:00 am- 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm-close (Varies)
Duties/ Responsibilities
This is a very time structured, fast-paced position. It requires the employee to effectively manage their time in order to stay on top of all tasks. It requires interaction with customers, so good customer skills are also necessary. Other needed attributes are reliability, honesty, trustworthiness, hard working and good initiative.
Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Driving the zamboni to resurface the ice
- Running the cash register and handling money
- Helping customers / Answering phones
- Cleaning. This includes sweeping, mopping, emptying garbage cans, cleaning bathrooms
- Opening the building before customers arrive
- Closing and locking the building after all customers have left
Some experience working at an ice rink is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individuals. Pay depends on experience.
Week Night and Weekend Employees
Hours:
Varies from day to day. Most shifts are between 6 and 8 hours long.
Duties/ Responsibilities
This is an important position at the MIC. This position is responsible for keeping the appearance of the building appealing to customers as well as keeping things running smoothly in order to assure each customer has a positive experience at the MIC. They will directly help the shift supervisor with all tasks that need completed. This position requires the employee to be friendly, polite, hard working, reliable, trustworthy and have initiative.
Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning. This includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, emptying trash cans and cleaning bathrooms.
- Greeting customers and providing them information
- Running the cash register and handling money
- Working Public Skate. This includes collecting payment, handing out and putting away rental skates and working the snack bar
- Organizing and hosting birthday parties and/or other events that occur at the MIC
