Private Lessons at the Marietta Ice Center
Choosing a Coach
It is your decision as to which coach you chose. Perhaps the instructor that has taught your child in group lessons already seems to inspire your child and make skating fun? Feel free to approach that instructor directly and ask if he or she has time to take your child on.
Another way to find a private instructor is to ask your ice rink Skating School Director or management to recommend an instructor. The rink may give you a phone number to contact a coach directly. Some arenas may take down your contact information and the coach will contact you.

Eligibility
Private Lessons can be for anyone. Nevertheless, private lessons are highly recommended supplement to class instruction rather instead of class instruction.

How and WhenPrivate Lessons are set up directly with an instructor, and are by appointment only. They are taught during freestyle sessions (see Freestyle Schedules) and public sessions (see Public Session Schedule). Program music is not allowed on public session ice.

Length of the Lesson
Approximately 20, 25, 30 or 40 minutes depending on preferences of you and your instructor.

Lesson Costs
Varies from approximately $15.00––$30.00 per 20 minutes (depending on the instructor and the length of the lessons). Make lesson payments directly to your instructor. Admission and ice time costs are additional (see below) and are paid to the Marietta Ice Center. You may not enter the ice without a proper sticker for Freestyle sessions or a wristband for public sessions.

Ice-Time CostsEvery skater must always pay for ice time before entering the arena. This is a separate charge from your instructor’s fee. All skaters must adhere to the following procedures: Freestyle stickers must be purchased as walk-ons ($10) or in sheets of 10 for ($80). Before getting on the ice, place your sticker on the sheet by the door going onto the ice (except for public sessions). This is very important as we are implementing a 7 day suspension policy for those who do not follow these rules! Public sessions must be paid for before entering the ice by paying the front counter and receiving a wristband. If you have a Learn to Skate card, be sure the attendant gives you a wristband.

Other Charges that may Apply
Instructors may have additional charges for music selection, music editing, coaching at test sessions, and/or travel expenses for test sessions and competitions.

Cancellations must be made via telephone by the following times to avoid being charged the FULL scheduled lesson fee. Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.
